Matt Elliott - Howling Songs (Ici, d’ailleurs) Having a number of releases under pseudonym The Third Eye Foundation (mainly on Domino Records) this is the 3rd album under Matt Elliott’s name. It sees him further distancing himself from the electronica with which he is synonymous, steering away from laptop and samples, to create more European folk intoned compositions. Dark and desperate, globally observational vocals and gothic chorals are backed by sombre cross cultural stylings. He draws upon French café accordion, Spanish guitar, Slavic strings, minimal piano and reaches towards polkas, flamenco and Zorba the Greek to conspire for revolution.
