Iggy Pop - Lust For Life DVD (ABC Entertainment)
Ol’ Iggy seems to have been around forever, and he has been making records since The Stooges 1969 debut, but there’s definitely been quiet periods where he hasn’t been quite the draw he is now. This film was recorded back in 1986 when he was riding high on the back of his “Real Wild Child” hit single and Blah Blah Blah album. He’s captured out on tour and taking part in a series of interviews that cover his career up to that period. It’s informative stuff - Iggy’s always been an interesting interviewee - especially on the early days and The Stooges split (Stooges guitarist, the late Ron Asheton is also present, and shares his insights). Interspersed with archive footage, Lust For Life is certainly a worthwhile purchase for any Pop / Stooges fan, though at just 41 minutes, you’ll be left wanting a little more.
