Scott Warren – Quick Fix Bandage (Jangular Music) Scott Warren is best known for fronting the indie pop outfit Signal Hill Transmission, and many of the songs on this solo outing retain a good degree of that pop energy. This doesn’t stray away from its influences however and aspects of Wilco and Dylan are clearly visible. A quick look at the song titles suggests a depressing journey but although ‘Before You Say Goodbye’ and ‘Laugh Through The Pain’ deal with heartbreak they also look towards a brighter future. Warren is helped by an all-star cast of musicians who’s past work ranges from Fountains of Wayne to Ray Charles. The highlight is ‘Speed of Sound’ which works perfectly as the album’s centerpiece whilst finishing proceedings with a cover of America’s ‘Sister Golden Hair’ is nothing short of inspired. www.myspacemusic.com/scottwarrenmusic Michael B.
