Nell Bryden - Second Time Around (157 Records)
Nell has had a lot of UK press for this new release. The story is having trod the boards for years, she finally ran out of luck and money. She thought her dreams of stardom were over. Then lo and behold, a long lost painting was found in her attic and was sold for
$300,000. This then allowed her to finance this new record. It really is an eclectic collection of songs. Mainly full of jazz and torch songs it certainly highlights her smooth voice and her songwriting abilities. The album is really Radio 2 territory at the softer end of their spectrum. The standout track is "Goodbye" a beautiful acoustic guitar ballad, that you could hear Sade covering. This is cool and smooth in a very pleasant way. www.nellbryden.com
