Waterstreet - Meant For Thrills (Independent)
A classic rock outfit from Chicago, Illinois, Waterstreet are here to rock like it’s... well, to be frank, any time from about 1969 to now. Which is one way of saying that they’re playing music which is pretty much timeless, whilst sounding like any one of a number of bands plucked randomly from your Dad’s record collection. It’s not a wholly unattractive proposition. This sort of thing’s been around for nearly 40 years for a reason, and that’s because adolescent males live for Saturday night and Waterstreet provide a soundtrack for those of them who are unafraid to rock, whilst pointing fingers skyward. It’s unnecessary to point out that the whole package would look (and probably sound) better on 12” shiny black vinyl, with artwork to match, but that’s beside the point because, and this is the important bit, if you’ve ever felt that you’ve cottoned onto Aerosmith, AC/DC, Free, etc. 30 years to late, then quite possibly, this is the band for you. www.waterstreetlive.com
