Rad Unicorn - Asleep in the Forest (Independent)
Suzanne and Ero met and fell in love as members of the noisy San Diego art-pop band The Nylon-Coated Cats. In their new guise, as the guitar and bass duo, Rad Unicorn, they quietly blend folk, jangly indie guitar riffs with vocal harmony and low key psychedelia to create a pastoral dreamscape. Asleep in the Forest draws elements from the minimal side of Pink Floyd and 80’s indie is also clearly evidenced on, “A Bed of Leaves”. Elsewhere when Ero takes the lead you can hear echoes of Rogers Waters at his most peaceful and “Naptime for Sleepy” would have been right at home on Sarah Records. Take a seat, lie down, relax and by the final track, “We Meet a Friend When we Close Our Eyes” you’ll be left in a warm place. www.myspace.com/radunicorn
