Magic Magic - Magic Magic (Earth Calling Music) Magic Magic seem to be picking up a lot of good press at the moment, with lots of comparisons to Arcade Fire winging their way in their direction. I’m not sure it does Magic Magic too many favours except, possibly, getting their foot in a few doors, and if the comparison is to stand, then it’s worth pointing out that the Boston quintet have softened corners and frayed the edges of a style of indie which can sometimes feel intentionally awkward. Though they’re unafraid of the big choruses, “Sleepy Lion” will get the youthful and fringed singing along gaily and “Over Your Heart” may start off like it doesn’t care, but it soon puts everything right with a vocal hook that may just inspire hugs and tears.
