Peter Bradley Adams - Leavetaking (Sarathan Records) When I first heard Leavetaking, I thought I’d accidentally put on an early Jackson Browne album. When I realised my mistake, I was delighted as the realisation dawned I was listening to a great new talent. This is a wonderful collection of songs, subtly played to bring out the best in the melodies, and sung by a singer with a special light quality to his voice. It really is a diamond in the rough. Nine songs of a consistent quality, from the opening track "The Longer I Run", through to my favourite "She's Under My Skin", to the final track "Song For Viola". This is a first rate album, but I hope it’s just tapping his potential, and there’s even better to come.
