Devon Sproule - Don’t Hurry For Heaven (Tin Angel) Virginia’s Devon Sproule is slowly but surely hitting the big time. Recent tours with Lucinda Williams, Richie Havens and Kurt Wagner, and a quick glance of her upcoming UK tour, including a headline show at the Shepherds Bush Empire (May 14th, if you’re in London) indicates a career which is progressing to plan. Her latest, Don’t Hurry For Heaven, shows no sign of derailing things. Her alt. roots singer-songwriter style takes in wind blown desert blues, old-time jazz and off-kilter country. Jesse Winchester even turns up on “Ain’t That The Way” and producer / husband Paul Curreri duets on an inspired version of Black Uhuru’s “Sponji Reggae”.
